Liam Viney Piano Recital

At 6:30pm on Thursday 9 June 2011, in the Alistair Mackerras Theatre of Sydney Grammar School (Ross’s old school) the solo pianist, collaborative musician and teacher Liam Viney will give a recital of contemporary Australian piano works, including Ross Edwards’s Kumari.

First prize-winner of the Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition, Liam has performed regularly in Australia, the US, Europe and Israel. He will play contemporary piano music by Brett Dean (the Sydney premiere of Equity & Prayer), Ross Edwards (Kumari), Matthew Hindson (Plastic Jubilation), Peter Sculthorpe (Three Pieces for Piano), Carl Vine (Piano Sonata No. 1) and Nigel Westlake (Piano Sonata).
